THE TREE'S DAY

A SCHOOL PLAY: THE OLD LOG

Children of 2nd year of Primary Education celebrate the day of the tree with this beautiful play: The old log.
SCHOOL: Miguel de Cervantes, Spain.

WHY WE CELEBRATE TREE'S DAY?

Tree's  Day is a reminder of the importance of protecting woodlands.

It is celebrated on March 21, that is, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere and the first day of autumn in the southern hemisphere.

World Tree Day, World Forestry Day also called, was, in principle, a recommendation by the World Forestry Congress held in Rome in 1969. This recommendation was accepted by the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1971.

Before other countries had already established independently Tree Day. The first was Sweden who instituted it in 1840. In Paraguay, celebrates Tree's Day since 1904 at the initiative of Moises Bertoni, who originally set on July 14. Then in 1954 the Ministry of Education set the date of June 19 to commemorate Tree's Day.

Visit to the mineral water.

The day April 11, 2011 we students of class I C - D visited the plant of mineral water Lilia invited by the parents of some students who work here.
The visit was organized at a meeting on water saving, and also
to enhance an important resource of our town: the mineral waters.
Rionero in Vulture, in fact, is famous for its mineral waters, which are exported all over the world.

During this visit we found out how plastic bottles are produced, how they are filled, put the label and packaged to be sold in stores.
