Small Citizens grow

At the end of 2011, dedicated to 150 anniversary of the Unification of Italy, we students of class II C - D - E  wanted to give, in our small, our contribution to this important event. Therefore, together with our teachers, we have prepared some simple songs and rhymes suitable to our age.
The teachers  have spoken us of many men and women who fought to unite our country. We were told of Garibaldi, Mazzini, Anita, of kings and queens. We thought they were fairy tales, but no. It 's all true! So many people have fought for us to live in a nation free, united and without wars and all the facts  have recounted us   form the story, the history of our nation.

Lovejoy, the star of Christmas

Who has spent Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere could see, as tradition dictates, a luminous trail across the sky before dawn. A true miracle of nature! The Comet Lovejoy, able not only to resist a close encounter with the Sun but capable of giving many of us, in this Christmas season,  spectacular images. The comet belongs to the so-called Plain of Kreutz comets probably originate from a single large comet.
Lovejoy has a size of about 200 meters, then equal to two football fields, and is unusually large compared to the average size of these objects. It has been the first comet of this type have been observed from Earth for many days near  the sun.
It has been discovered last November 27 by Australian Terry Lovejoy.

The true story of the Epiphany

Pupils of a second class of primary school Conti (Jesi, Ancona) tell what they think is the story of the Epiphany.

The Epiphany

The six January we celebrated the Epiphany. This day ends the Christmas period. According to the Catholic religion Epiphany recalls the arrival of the Three Wise Men to the Child Jesus. This is a special holiday for children. Indeed we imagine the Befana as an ancient Santa Claus-like figure whose name means "giver of gifts" and appears as a friendly old witch who rides through the air on a broomstick, dropping through chimneys to fill up with stockings toys and candy. All we use to write a letter to Befana to ask for gifts. However Befana is a bit like our court. In fact, she brings sweets and toys to children during the year were good and ash and coal to bads. So we in the morning of Epiphany we never know what we will find in your sock and the night before we are all a little worried.
