The Carnation Revolution – 25th April 1974 in Portugal

25th April is a holiday in Portugal, as in 1974 this was a very important day in the history of Portugal because there was a revolution that brought the government down in order to implant democracy. This revolution was led by military forces and it was received with great joy in the streets, because people had long hoped for freedom. So, this holiday is called “Freedom Day”. Carnations are seen in Portugal as a symbol of freedom because on this day a florist offered the soldiers red carnations. Other aspects are that radio was a very important media to organize and set up this revolution and that in Lisbon one of the military bulldozer stopped at a red light. April 25th was a turning point in Portugal as it brought many changes in the life of the Portuguese people, that’s why this revolution day will never be forgotten. Interview Fitness instructor

Teacher Danilo why did you decide to choose this profession?
I chose this area for my job because from a young matured a huge passion for every kind of sport,
  What is the importance of physical activity in children and adolescents?
 The period ranging from 6 years to 14 years for both sexes, depending on how it is lived , can largely affect the well-being and mental and physical balance in the adult. Recently, many social upheavals have led to increasing levels of physical inactivity especially in childhood. A similar reversal of trends, habits and patterns of behavior has generated a series of restrictions and constraints on the physical and mental, directly proportional to the degree of social welfare. Children and adolescents, both male and female, could achieve great benefits from regular practice of an activity that does not necessarily have to be too intense. With at least 15-20 minutes of vigorous activity like running or other aerobic sports day, children and teens are able to: maintain good health and good bone and joints build good muscle mass reduce body fat maintain a good weight prevent the development of high blood pressure and help decrease the pressure in adolescents with hypertension improve learning ability. Physical activity also gives it a decisive role both as a channel for venting of natural exuberance, and as a training and general education, improving the adaptability of the boy to daily tasks, allowing a good emotional control, better self-esteem and increasing the capacity socialization.
What is psychomotor?
 It's 'an educational discipline, rehabilitative and therapeutic, is a "practical" education and help through the report, is a concrete activity, motor activity, which is modeled on the spontaneous play and expressiveness of children who live in and experience first individual actions and relationships. Proposing their own game situations, along with the psychomotricist, realize an area of security and wellbeing. The Hall of locomotion is a warm, pleasant, welcoming, with a floor made of cork or wood, with soft and colorful materials with which children play in bare feet. The psychomotor therapist's task is to reassure them and help them to become confident in their personal capacity for action, statement, accompanying them to discover or rediscover the pleasant experiences of his own motion and to share them with others, in this way the children can structure an image of itself, a positive identity. During the activity can express and rework, in an atmosphere of emotional containment, their personal history inscribed in the body.  Education promotes Psychomotor promotes (in a particular space and time, using specific material) childhood  expressiveness, and its development, toward three goals that complement and enrich each other:
 - Communication;
 - Creation;
 - The operation (in the sense of training to operational thinking). The three terms are to be understood as a whole
What are the values in the sport?
 Sport is a school of life because it teaches us to have respect for themselves and others.

Under the project to promote reading, the pupils of the first class of primary school with pupils attending the final year of kindergarten have met the author Paolo Comentale of the theater company "The house of Pulcinella". The writer-actor presented the text: "Vulture John goes to school". Children asked a series of questions to the author
Because the theater is so important to you?
 The theater is a fast and deep part of life, so I think it's important to me but I think a little bit for everyone. Except that ... the theater is ephemeral. Nothing remains of the show. That then I thought of writing, remains at least a few pages ...
Your stories in the theater and in the books on what they born?The stories are born looking at reality with attention and care.
 From your shows, reading your books you feel the love for children that you meet all the time. What do you think they are? What do they need to live serene?
 I like all children need to be loved. Love makes it strong for fear wins.
Why parents should come to the theater with their children?
 I think parents should follow the lives of their children. Just as my parents did a thousand years ago.
Why should read their books?
The books are all beautiful, my parents are like so many others and I am not a writer ... I'm just a storyteller.
Your stories have, for the protagonists, the animals. Do you like animals? Do you prefer dogs, cats or vultures ...?
 I like all animals. This is the period of ... feathered sparrows and vultures.
 What will speak your next book about?
 The new book is ... TOP SECRET.

Easter in Macedonia - The testimony of a student

In Macedonia we celebrate Easter always after the first full moon of spring. This year coincides with April 15. You begin to breathe the air of Easter a week before  Sunday, that is during the "Week of the palms," or, as it is called in Italy, the "Holy Week". The The Holy Friday is the day when we colour and decorate eggs. On the morning of Easter Sunday children go into homes shouting "Christ is risen." People gives an egg to every child. Another custom is that on Saturday night people go in church .. At midnight you can hear the bells ringing in celebration. People  takes a garland of flowers and turns around the church . Then he goes inside to participate in the Mass. The first thing people do when  enter is leave a donation and then passes under a table. On Easter Sunday the whole family gathers together for lunch and dinner. The Easter dinner is rich and festive: lamb, pork roast, sarme, ham, salami, sausages, bread, tursija, ajvar, buns, kajmak ..... and like in Italy there is a dove. Then the night is awake the whole family together to see the film of the story of Jesus. But the greatest thing is the battles of eggs in which partecipate also the adults. The winning egg (ie does not break) you hold it until Easter the following year .. they say it protects the house, its tenants and their livestock.

We have all been drawn from a book titled "If I were a tiger" and asked to the teacher to read it. So she took the book while we are sitting on the floor to listen in silence.
"If I were a tiger" is about a boy who wanted to become many different things and characters: a tiger, a stone, a ghost, an elephant. It runs into several thousand adventures. After the reading we have animated the story. The book was wonderful! It 'was an unforgettable experience because we had a great time.
