World No Tobacco Day

On May 31 we celebrate World No Tobacco Day, an important moment of reflection on the harmful impact of smoking on health. This year's theme focuses on the negative role played by the world of cinema and fashion, rather than leading towards a correct and healthy lifestyle, helping to spread the scourge of global tobacco consumption.On the occasion of this event and at the conclusion of a study and research, we created this video which summarizes our view on this important issue.

THE SCHOOL TRIP

This year we went to Villanueva de la Fuente, To "Sol Verde" in english "Green Sun". It was fantastic because we practice lots of sports. Watch our film.

Spain Taken the street for a TRUE DEMOCRACY - May 15th 2011 -

This video shows how thousands of Spanish citizens go together to the main squares of the main cities of Sapin to ask for a real domocracy. They are called "the indignats".This video is famous all over the world and it shows their main ideas aobut a real democaracy.

THE SCHOOL TRIP: "TABLAS DE DAIMIEL"

"Las Tablas de Daimiel" is a natural park in which there are some endangered animals. This place is located in Daimiel, (Ciudad Real).

Students in 4 th, 5 th and 6 th class went to "Las Tablas de Daimiel". And We saw animals and plants. The landscape was all very nice. Some animals were alive, other were dead.

Making origami

Our younger friends are wonking on a project titled 'Origami Wonders'. They can make lots of paper wonders really: planes, boats, animals, flowers, Christmas and Easter decorations. You can see some modular spring decorations they made before Easter.



Last week they made a colourful origami ball called kusudama. We learnt a lot from them about origami. All the origami wonders with the tutorial films showing how to make the origami things are in the wiki they made: http://origami-wonders.wikispaces.com

EARTHQUAKE IN SPAIN

Yesterday, at 5 pm there was an earhtquake in Spain, near the city of Lorca, in Murcia.
Every day tens of earthquakes of this magnitude are occurring all over the world, so nothing special here. There were lots of cracks in walls. Also an elderly institute and some hospitals had to be evacuated. Two hours later a much stronger and also shallow 5.2 aftershock occurred. There were damages in private houses, municipality buildings and historic places. Unfortunately, there were ten deads too. Authorities did all what they could to help the unfortunate Lorca people.

A journey through time

On April 10, 2011, the Primary School of Rionero in collaboration with the municipality and local associations have organized a parade to celebrate the historic union of Italy which took place 150 years ago, in 1861.
Represented in the parade were the main characters who contributed to the process of unification: G. Mazzini, Garibaldi, the Garibaldini, the Mazziniani, Anita, the 20 regions of Italy, Cavour and his wife, secret societies like the Carbonari, the robbers and finally Carmine Crocco, a human flag formed by all the children.
This parade.served as a time machine that brought us  in an age long passed from the costumes of the time.

Snow in May in Poland!

Something incredible happened in the south Poland on 3rd May 2011. When we got up in the morning it was snowing heavily. It was snowing... and snowing... and after some hours snow was everywhere. Unfortunately, the snow destroyed many trees: some of the branches were too heavy and they were broken, it was also too cold (minus 7 degrees at night!!!) and some of the spring trees lost theit leaves, and flowers...

Our educational trip

This year our class has made the educational trip at the Royal Palace of Caserta and Pompei.
The Royal Palace of Caserta was built by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli on behalf of Charles of Bourbon, King of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and was completed in 1845.
It is made ​​up of a complex of 1200 rooms and 1790 windows
Today is proclaimed World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The excavations of Pompeii is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Class V E  Primary School of Rionero in Vulture

Our country celebrates 200 years

200 years ago our country, Rionero in Vulture, became independent.
The historic date was remembered with a day of celebration: the morning opened with a parade.
After the bands "G. Orsomando" and "G. Verdi"  played some songs.
He followed the city council, at  the community center, with the participation of the municipal council "baby" of the school "M. Granata".
In the afternoon there was a historical parade and in the evening a show and a concert.

Bin Laden dead

On 1 May. Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. military's most wanted terrorist in the world: Osama Bin Laden.
He was famous for bombing the Twin Towers (New York) where he killed thousands of innocent people on September 11 2000.
And from that day was always sought and finally after 10 long years, was tracked down and after all the harm he has done, killed!
On his computer were found many other "evil plans " that he intended to take Bin Laden, such as an attack on American trains just the 11 September this year.
In America, a 'whole population celebrated his death  burning his pictures, uncorking champagne and waving American flags.
But not everyone is happy: in fact, some citizens of Al Qaeda are ready to avenge the death of their leader.
We can now say gloriously : JUSTICE IS MADE!
